3708119 - SYSTEMDB access scope in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition (PCE)

Symptom

Customers attempt to access the SYSTEMDB in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition (PCE), for example to query tenant status or SQL service ports, and assume that SYSTEMDB login is required to establish or troubleshoot HANA Studio connections to tenant databases.

When connecting from SAP HANA Studio to a tenant database, the connection fails with a JDBC error indicating that the tenant database is not connected or not reachable on the specified SQL port (for example: “database '<TENANT>' not connected”).
