3708283 - Measurement reading transferred despite equipment not installed to any superior technical object in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

• Measurement reading of equipment counter is transferred from other counter, even though the equipment is not installed to any superior technical object.
• Warning message "Measurement reading transfer usually only within object hierarchies" (Message no. IR159) is displayed while enable the 'Measurement Reading Transfer' for counter.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Check the counter assigned to the equipment which is not installed to any technical object, equipment has status 'AVLB'.
2. Notice the counter has measurement reading generated which are not created by user.

• The 'Measurement Reading Transfer' functionality was enabled, allowing measurement readings to be transferred from another counter even though the equipment is not installed.
• The warning message "Measurement reading transfer usually only within object hierarchies" was displayed but ignored, leading to the transfer of readings outside the expected hierarchy.

1. Ensure that the 'Measurement Reading Transfer' functionality is only enabled for equipment within the same hierarchy of measuring point objects.
2. When enabling the 'Measurement Reading Transfer', review and acknowledge the warning message "Measurement reading transfer usually only within object hierarchies" (Message no. IR159).
3. Avoid assigning measuring points for transfer unless the equipment is installed and belongs to the correct hierarchy.
4. If migration cockpit is used, ensure measuring points are not enabled for transfer during migration unless installation is confirmed.
