Error message F5808: "Field Cost Ctr is a required field for G/L account &1 &2" occurs during Periodic Posting or Valuation Posting activity.

1. For a Lease Contract, perform Periodic Posting or Valuation Posting via Apps 'Periodic Posting: Contracts' or 'Post Valuation for Contracts' or the equivalent background jobs.
2. Observe the error message F5808: "Field Cost Ctr is a required field for G/L account &1 &2".

• The 'Cost center' field was marked 'Req. Entry' in the field status group assigned to the given G/L account in G/L Account Master Data configuration.
• As per standard posting logic during Periodic Posting of lease contracts:
  • During the initial step, the lease contract serves as the account assignment object to collect relevant costs.
  • Collected costs are distributed to the contract object - and in turn to the underlying Cost Center/WBS element during the 'Transfer' phase of Periodic Posting.
• As per standard posting logic during Valuation Posting of lease contracts:
  • The clearing accounts are seen as 'Balance Sheet' accounts for the purposes of valuation posting - therefore no Cost Center (or other CO assignment object) is populated.
  • Cost Center/WBS Elements are only determined for Interest postings (and Depreciation postings in case of direct posting), based on the account assignment object maintained on the valuation parameter.

Ensure that Cost Center field is marked as 'Opt. Entry' in the field status group (maintained in SSCUI 104059 - Manage Field Status Groups) assigned to the affected G/L account (maintained in App 'Manage G/L Account Master Data'
