Symptom
When an employee clocks in on the last working day of their employment for a Cross-midnight shift and then tries to clock-out, Time sheet will not record Working Times and throw an error saying "Either the employee is not there in the system or is not assigned to a clock in clock out group on this date."
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking
Reproducing the Issue
- Assign a cross-midnight shift to the employee.
- On their last working day try to clock in and then clock out the next morning.
- Check Time sheet
Cause
Clock In/Clock Out functionality follows physical day boundaries rather than logical day boundaries, preventing the recording of time events that cross midnight on the termination date.
Resolution
Clock in Clock out time events follow Physical Day rather than Logical Day and therefore, in such cases, it is recommended that you use Time Sheet UI to manually log working times instead of using Time Events.
