3709903 - Error: Result set for query 2CCFIFINSTMTCMP is empty in Balance Sheet/Income Statement - Multidimensional in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When running a report in the app Balance Sheet/Income Statement - Multidimensional (App ID W0161), the following error messages appear:

The result set does not contain any relevant data

Result set for query 2CCFIFINSTMTCMP is empty.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

1. Open the Balance Sheet / Income Statement - Multidimensional reporting app.
2. Run the report.
3. Observe that the report returns no data and shows the message that the result set is empty.

Cause 1: 

No shared currency type for the selected company codes

Currency type 10 is not unique with regard to the currency as company code currency

Error while reading data; navigation is possible

Result set for query 2CCFIFINSTMTCMP is empty

The Currency Type filter is set to value 10 (Company Code Currency), but multiple company codes with different currencies have been selected. There are no entries available for this query.

Cause 2:

The user executing the report does not have the required authorization to access the report results.

For the error "No shared currency type for the selected company codes", ensure that all selected company codes have the same company code currency for Currency Type 10. To run the report with multiple company code currencies, select a different filter: Currency Type 30 (Group Currency), as all company codes share the same group currency.

For authorization issues, follow these steps for resolution:

1. Open the Display Authorization Trace app and trace while running the affected report to capture missing authorizations. Refer to SAP Help Portal: How to Create an Authorization Trace
2. Review the trace results to identify the exact authorization object/value (for example, read restrictions) that blocks data retrieval.
3. In the Maintain Business Roles app, adjust the affected role by granting the required authorizations or setting the relevant read restrictions to unrestricted, as appropriate to organizational governance.
4. Run the report again to confirm that data is returned as expected.
