Symptom

When editing line items in the Post General Journal Entries app, some of the header information is being greyed out:

  • Journal Entry Date
  • Posting Date
  • Period
  • Journal Entry Type
  • Company Code Currency
  • Transaction Currency
  • Ledger Group
  • Translation Date

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Post General Journal Entries app.
  2. Fill the header information.
  3. Fill the line item information, press Enter.
  4. Observe that the posting date field is not editable.

Cause

System standard behavior.

Resolution

  1. Choose the correct header information before filling in the line item information.
  2. If having filled incorrect header information, refresh the site to fill again.
