3711558 - Default Distribution Channel Selection in Sales Orders with Multiple Channels Assigned

When creating a new Sales Order for a customer account with multiple Distribution Channels assigned to one Sales Organization, the system defaults to the first Distribution Channel in the list rather than the one that is expected.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Sales Orders Work Center.
2. Open the Sales Orders View.
3. Click New Sales Order.
4. Enter a customer account that has multiple Distribution Channels assigned to the same Sales Organization.
5. Observe that the system automatically selects the first Distribution Channel in the list.
6. The expected Distribution Channel is not selected by default.

Once the Sales Unit in the corresponding business document is specified, the first entry in the list of Distribution Channels is used as the default value.

The list of Distribution Channels is maintained in Business Configuration.

To check the configuration:

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Select Implementation Projects or Overview.
3. Search for and open the Distribution Channel activity.
4. Review the maintained list of Distribution Channels and their sequence.

This is the expected system behavior.
