3713139 - How to Troubleshoot SAP Ariba SOAP API Issues (Connectivity, Authentication, Payload, Timeout, General)

Symptom

When I attempt to send or receive SOAP messages between my middleware (such as SAP CPI or SAP PI/PO) and SAP Ariba, the integration fails. I may see connection errors, SSL handshake failures, authentication errors, SOAP validation errors, or timeout-related issues. As a result, my SOAP web service calls are not processed successfully.

One or more of the following issues occur while integrating with SAP Ariba SOAP APIs:

  • Unable to connect to SAP Ariba SOAP endpoint

  • SSL handshake failures

  • HTTP 401 Unauthorized or Invalid Security Token errors

  • SOAP request rejected due to XML or schema validation errors

  • Timeouts, slow responses, or no response received from Ariba

  • HTTP 500 internal server errors
