3713282 - SAP HANA restore via AWS Backint hangs with no progress after RecoveryLogInitializationStarted when restoring from a different AWS account

Symptom

During a tenant or database restore using BACKINT with the AWS Backint Agent, the recovery starts normally and backup.log shows data recovery activity, but the restore does not complete and no database error is raised.

Typical backup.log sequence:

  • RECOVERY state of service: ... RecoveryExecuteDataRecoveryInProgress
  • services (indexserver, dpserver, xsengine) enter recovery phase
  • RECOVERY state of service: ... RecoveryLogInitializationStarted
  • afterwards no further progress entries appear

The database remains in recovery state and the restore appears “hung”.
HANA traces do not contain a clear database error.

In comparison, restores performed from a source system located in the same AWS account complete successfully.
