3714475 - Email notifications setting is disabled - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When users open the notification settings in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition,

• the email checkbox for each notification appear ticked/unticked by default.
• the email checkbox appears greyed out.
• users are not able to flag notification type with "Email" option.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the Fiori Launchpad.
2. Open the User Actions Menu.
3. Choose Settings.
4. Choose Notifications.
5. Observe that the Email checkbox for notifications are ticked/unticked by default.
6. Observe that the Email checkbox for notifications is disabled.

The option will only be enabled if Email Push Channel is maintained and activated.

As per Setting Notification Preferences | SAP Help Portal:

Below the general preferences is a table listing the different types or categories of notifications that you have received so far. This table is empty until you receive your first notification. The list expands over time as you receive different notification types relating to your business role.

Preferences for Specific Notification Types > E-Mail

Select this option to receive an additional e-mail for a notification. This option is only available for some notification types; if this option is disabled, no e-mail notifications can be sent. If your e-mail address is not provided in the system, the column is not displayed and you cannot enable e-mail notifications. To check your e-mail address open Settings  User Account. 

By default, the email option is selectable only when the corresponding notification type supports email delivery. Customers can choose to enable or disable email delivery based on their requirements.

In all other cases where email delivery is not supported, the email option will appear greyed out.
