Symptom
Share a view from space A to space B. For more information about sharing: Sharing Entities and Task Chains to Other Spaces.
When a user who has only the scoped modeler role for Space B navigates to the Data Builder or Repository Explorer, the view is visible but greyed out :
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
SAP Datasphere
Reproducing the Issue
- Create and deploy a view in space A.
- Share it to space B.
- Log in to the SAP Datasphere tenant as a user who has the scoped modeler role only for Space B.
- Search for the shared view in the Data Builder or Repository Explorer.
Cause
The shared view is still stored in the original space. So, if the user has the scoped role only for space B, the view cannot be opened and be greyed out.
Resolution
Even though the shared view cannot be opened directly, it can still be used in modeling, for example in Data Flow and Graphical View.
