3715448 - SUM JAVA: stack.xml is applicable for another system, but the current system is different

Symptom

When performing an update activity with the Software Update Manager 1.1 (JAVA), the "Stack configuration file (XML)" approach is selected. The selected approach can be confirmed in the following dialog files:

DIALOG.0.LOG

Jan 14, 2026 8:35:38 PM [Info ]: In dialog TargetOptions the value of variable stack labeled <HTML><BODY><B>Stack configuration file (XML)</B></BODY></HTML> has been set to value of variable true.
Jan 14, 2026 8:35:38 PM [Info ]: In dialog TargetOptions the value of variable inbox labeled <HTML><BODY><B>Manually prepared directory</B></BODY></HTML> has been set to value of variable false.

Upon continuing forward with the update activity, the following error message occurs in the Define Target step:

TroubleTicket_01.txt

Cannot construct a support package stack from file <DOWNLOAD_DIRECTORY_PATH><STACK>.xml.

If the "Manually prepared directory" approach was selected in the beginning, the following errors occur during the activity:

<MMM DD, YYYY HH:MM:SS AM> [Info ]: Component COMP_BUILDT is rejected: Component sap.com/COMP_BUILDT cannot be updated to higher SP level.
<MMM DD, YYYY HH:MM:SS AM> [Info ]: Component NWTEC is rejected: Component sap.com/NWTEC cannot be updated to higher SP level.
<MMM DD, YYYY HH:MM:SS AM> [Info ]: Component LMNWAUIFRMRK is rejected: Component sap.com/LMNWAUIFRMRK cannot be updated to higher SP level.
<MMM DD, YYYY HH:MM:SS AM> [Info ]: Component DI_CLIENTS is rejected: Component sap.com/DI_CLIENTS cannot be updated to higher SP level.
<MMM DD, YYYY HH:MM:SS AM> [Info ]: Component LMCTC is rejected: Component sap.com/LMCTC cannot be updated to higher SP level.
<MMM DD, YYYY HH:MM:SS AM> [Info ]: Component SWLIFECYCL is rejected: Component sap.com/SWLIFECYCL cannot be updated to higher SP level.

Upon analyzing the log files, the following WARNING (not ERROR) messages can be found in the log files:
