3715483 - Unable to fetch External ID field for Registered Products in Data Workbench

Symptom

When using Export in the Data Workbench, the External ID for Registered Products is not available.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Data Workbench work center.
  2. Go to the Import view.
  3. Select the object in question.
  4. Click the Download button.
  5. Once the template is downloaded, open it through excel.
  6. See that the External ID field is not present.

Cause

  • The External ID field is currently not supported in Data Workbench for all scenarios, including import, export, and update.
  • The External Key field unique to Data Workbench scenarios should not be confused with the External ID field, as they are distinct.

Resolution

Highlight this limitation to product management via an enhancement request. (KBA 2531650 - New Customer Request for Additional Feature or Function in SAP standard software)
