Cause
- The Shipment Date in the Third-Party Delivery Notification is older than six months.
- It is a standard system restriction that prevents inventory postings beyond six months in the past. This control is designed to ensure that logistics processes are completed within six months in order to maintain data consistency within the system.
Resolution
Follow the below steps to extend the posting period:
- Go to the Business Configuration work center.

- Select an active project.
- Choose Edit Project Scope.
- In the Scoping step, ensure that Inventory Postings is selected within Manufacturing, Warehousing and Logistics -> Inventory Management.
- In the Questions step, expand the Manufacturing, Warehousing and Logistics scoping element and select Inventory Management.
- Select Inventory Postings and check the In Scope box for the question "Do you want to extend the posting period beyond 6 months?"
Note: The above steps allow the system to post the document only if it is older than six months and within two years in the past.
