3715962 - Impact of assigning user parameter "MSV" and value "01" on system messages in SAP S/4HANA

Symptom

  • A new system message was created by referencing an existing message. The only difference between the two messages is the version.
  • The user parameter "MSV" with value "01" was assigned to a user to refer to the newly created message.
  • Users assigned with "MSV=01" always pull version "01" of a message if it exists, while version "00" is ignored for those users.
  • Users without the MSV parameter always pull version "00".
  • If additional messages are created with version "01", users with "MSV=01" will start pulling those versions, potentially impacting behavior.
