3716042 - Limitation: Hierarchies Unavailable in SAC Dimension Input Control for Live Datasphere Model

Symptom

  • The hierarchy option is not available when creating a dimension input control in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) on a live Datasphere model.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

     

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to SAP Analytics Cloud.
  2. Open the Story.
  3. Open the backend model.
  4. When the input prompt pops up for the field 'xxx', observe that the hierarchy option is not available for selection.

Cause

  • The hierarchy option is not yet supported when creating a dimension input control in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) on a live Datasphere model.

Resolution

  • Confirmed that the hierarchy option is currently not supported in SAC for dimension input controls on live Datasphere models.
  • Note that both SAC and live model development teams are actively working on this enhancement, which is planned for a future release.
  • Track the progress of this enhancement and help increase its priority by voting on the official SAP Influence request: Improvement Request Details - Customer Influence.
