3716060 - Maximum Allowed Years for Date Selection in Story Reports

When using Story Reports and creating a Date Range filter through an Input Control (page filter), the dynamic value adjustment for “Effective End-Date” is limited to a maximum range of 100 years. Due to this restriction, records with an end-date of 9999‑12‑31 cannot be included when using dynamic date selections.

1. Create or select a Story Report.
2. Apply a filter on a effective end-date field and set a dynamic date range.
3. Notice the range is restricted to 100 years and a warning appears if more years are selected.
   
4. Observe that records with an effective end-date of 9999/12/31 are excluded from the report output when this range is configured. 

This is the expected behavior for Story Reports. To include additional records and create a Story with a broader date range, you may either use a Fixed date range defined through the input control or adjust the report Variables.

To do so, go to Story and follow one of these steps: 

1. Design filter using the Fixed Date Selection Type.
   
   • The Fixed Range option is the second selection available when creating a simple filter/input control within a Story.
     
2. Adjust the Variables on the report.
   • The variables can be modified from the filter selection panel. Instead of selecting a measure or dimension, choose “Variables” → “Edit Prompt” → then select the desired date range.
