Symptom
- Onboarding 1.0 has been replaced by Onboarding 2.0, and access to the Onboarding 1.0 module is being deactivated for all users.
- Despite removal of RBP permissions, some users are still able to access the module.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 1.0
Cause
The option may still appear if the logged-in user is assigned as Manager or HR Manager in an OnboardingCandidateInfo record, because the user is treated as a named user for that onboarding process, even when RBP permissions are not explicitly granted.
Resolution
- Navigate to the Admin Center in SAP SuccessFactors.
- Manage the permission role and deactivate the following permission: Homepage v3 Onboarding tile group Manage On/Offboarding 1.0 > Manage onboarding 1.0 permission.
- Verify that Onboarding 1.0 is no longer visible in the Home dropdown menu.
- Refer to the following SAP Knowledge Base Articles for further guidance:

Note: If the affected user has any pending onboarding tasks—such as incomplete Post-Hire Verification, Orientation steps, Signature steps, Compliance requirements, or Notifications—they will continue to have access to the Onboarding module. In such cases, you may either complete the outstanding tasks directly within the user interface or submit a support ticket to have them resolved from the backend.
