3716479 - Packing instruction selection dialog not displayed for synchronous production receipts in S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

The 'Packing instruction selection dialog' is not displayed for synchronous production receipts created via MIGO or in the WM inbound delivery, despite the 'Start automatically' and 'Packing instruction selection dialog' indicators being ticked in the packing transaction profiles 0025 EWM - Inbound Delivery (WM) and 0021 Sync. GR from Production in EWM via MIGO.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Post Goods Receipt in MIGO (movement 101) from production as a synchronous movement.
2. Observe that the packing instruction dialog does not appear despite flagged settings in PackTransProfile 0021.
3. Receive materials from a vendor using inbound delivery creation in VL31N.
4. Use app F1706 to pack the material and observe that the dialog does not appear to display alternative packaging instructions.

Actively selecting packing instructions during automatic packing with the UPB is currently not supported in either “Change Inbound Deliveries” or “MIGO.” In the standard system behavior, the first packing instruction determined according to the configuration maintained in transaction POF1 is automatically used for background packing.

As a possible workaround within the standard solution, refine the determination logic of packing instructions. By maintaining different key combinations (for example, based on supplier, material, and plant), it is possible to control more precisely which packing instruction is applied in each scenario.
