3716610 - Errors in Production Bill of Materials Mass Maintenance Run

When executing Production Bill of Materials Mass Maintenance run, the system throws the following errors:

“ECO ABC not completed” 
“Action COMPLETE for ABC is not permitted” 
“Error messages while updating”
“Action failed; status of change order does not allow changing of objects”
“Error messages while assigning variant to item”

(ABC refers to the respective ECO ID)

SAP Business Bydesign

1. Go to Planning and Production Master Data Work Center.
2. Under Automated Actions view, select Production Bill of Material Mass Maintenance sub-view.
3. Select an Run 123. (123 represents the Run ID)
4. Choose on Schedule button
5. Select Schedule
6. Select the option Start immediately.
7. Choose Save and close.
8. Refresh the logs under Details tab.
9. Choose the latest application log ID.
10. In the results section, observe the errors:

• "ECO ABC not completed"
• "Action COMPLETE for ABC is not permitted" 
• "Error messages while updating"
• "Action failed; status of chg. order & does not allow changing of objects"
• "Error messages while variant assignment to item"

 (ABC refers to the ECO ID)

The Engineering Change Order (ECO) ID used in the mass maintenance run is in Completed status and the same ECO ID is used while executing in the existing run.

A new Run should be created along with new ECO ID while performing mass maintenance run for Production Bill of Materials.

Steps to create a new Run: 

1. Go to Planning and Production Master Data Work Center.
2. Choose new Production Bill of Material Mass Maintenance Run under Common Tasks.
3. Enter the Relevant Details.
4. Choose Next .
5. Choose the Relevant Bill of Material Variant.
6. Choose Finish
7. Choose on Schedule button
8. Select Schedule
9. Select Start immediately.
10. Choose Save and close.
