3717236 - Reason Why G/L Account Balance is 0 but Appears in "Unassigned Accounts" Tab in the app Balance Sheet/Income Statement – China?

Why is the G/L account balance 0 this year, but it still appears in the "Unassigned Accounts" tab in the app Balance Sheet/Income Statement – China?

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

1. Open the app Balance Sheet/Income Statement – China.
2. Navigate to the tab "Unassigned Accounts".
3. The G/L account balance 0 this year, but it still appears in the tab "Unassigned Accounts".

This issue occurs because the report processes accounts based on the "Period in Prior Year" logic. Even though the account has a zero balance in the current period, it could have had a balance in the same period of the prior year. As a result, the account is displayed in the tab "Unassigned Accounts".

To confirm the reason why an account is being displayed and to examine its balances for all periods:

1. Navigate to the app Display G/L Account Balances.
2. Select the relevant G/L account.
3. Check the balance for each period, especially the corresponding period from the prior year, which is influencing the display of the account in the report.
