3717433 - Stock Discrepancy Between Stock Overview and Supply Planning Due to Logistic Use Configuration

Symptom

The available quantity in product planning page does not match the on-hand stock quantity in Stock Overview.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Supply Planning work center.
  2. Select Stock overview under common task.
  3. Search with relevant Product ID and Site ID.
  4. The On-hand Stock is displayed as XX (XX represents the Quantity of the Product).
  5. Go to Supply Planning work center.
  6. Go to Products view.
  7. Search with relevant Product ID and Planning Area ID.
  8. The Available Quantity differs from the On-Hand Stock in Stock Overview.

Cause

  • The discrepancy between stock overview and supply planning occurs because the logistic use for the specific logistic area is configured as "Not Relevant for Planning".
  • If the Logistics Use is set to “Not Relevant for Planning” for a specific logistics area, the system excludes the stock stored in that logistics area from supply planning.
  • This is Standard System Behavior.

Resolution

To make this stock available on the product planning page,

Option 1: Remove the logistics use “Not Relevant for Planning” for the relevant logistics area.
Option 2: Perform goods movement to transfer the stock to a different logistics area with logistic use 'Storage'.
