3720133 - SAP Analytics Cloud Live connection to Google Big query fails when creating Models

SAC Live connection to Google Big Query is saved without issues, but Model creation fails.

• Network trace shows following error:
  • Failed request: 
    httos://<SAC tenant URL>/sap/fpa/services/rest/fpa/dataAcquisition/v1/jobs/...
  • Response:
    • "messageId": "SQL_LIVE_CANNOT_CREATE_DATASET",
      "message": "Cannot create SQL Live Dataset. This is unexpected; please contact system administrator.",

SAP Analytics Cloud 2025.21

1. Go to SAC Modeler
2. Create a new model
3. Select existing Live connection from Google Big Query
4. See available folders and tables
5. Select table and click Create
6. Observe Error message: Cannot create SQL Live Dataset: This is unexpected; please contact system administrator.

Collect the Correlation ID from reproduced issue, either from HAR file or Error message from SAC UI.

It is possible there is a configuration issue on customer side of Google BigQuery and the SAC request gets denied by policy constraints. 

While the connection and browsing of the models work fine - access to a specific model is being denied.

The full error message would appear as follows into SAC internal HANA backend trace:

• Could not retrieve remote object metadata; REST API: requestType=BigQuery_GetColumn, statusCode=403, msg=VPC Service Controls: Request is prohibited by organization's policy. vpcServiceControlsUniqueIdentifier:

In order to confirm if SAC request gets denied by Google Big Query policy constraints, HAR trace and Correlation ID have to be collected and shared with SAC Technical Support team.

SAC Support team will check internally if SAC request got denied by Google Big Query while attempting to create the model.

If confirmed this is the root cause for error message, customer team has to review and update their policy settings on Google BigQuery where necessary to accept access request from SAP Analytics Cloud while creating the model.
