Symptom
- Within the Plan Customer Projects app, the planned cost calculation does not reflect the actual staffed hours for a role. Instead, it uses the planned hours.
- The issue occurs when a resource request is staffed with more hours than the planned amount (via external staffing) and the surplus hours are not accounted for in the cost calculation.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Add a role with 1 hour demand; costs are calculated for 1 hour.
- Staff the role in SPRM RM with 10 hours.
- Observe that costs still reflect only the 1 hour demand.
Cause
Resolution
In Plan Customer Project the "Planned Cost" value does not consider the overstaffed amount. Planned Cost is simply Supplied Cost + Unsupplied Cost.
So in the example above Supplied Cost would come from 10 hours of Staffed Effort and Unsupplied Cost would come from -9 hours (which is overstaffed greater than the demand hours).
The "Cost of Staffed Resources" value is available in app "Project Control - Professional Services Project" as a field under the Staffing tab.
