3720629 - Deleted Higher Duty Assignment profile is appearing as inactive past profile in the inactive search after being completely deleted

Deleted Higher Duty/Temporary Internal Assignment profiles are appearing as inactive profiles in the inactive search after being completely deleted.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Higher Duty Assignment

1. Search for a user on Higher Duty Assignment
2. Delete one of the past terminated HDA profiles clicking on the Trash icon from Take Action > Manage Higher Duty or Temporary Assignment 
3. Now Go To People Search, check "Include inactive users in search" > Type the Emp ID in the search bar
   3. Observe multiple inactive empty profiles are appearing in the drop-down and some are redundant leading to confusion and ambiguous user experience.

This is a defect in 2511 release and only specific to latest people profile - PPX, the deleted Higher Duty Assignment profile does now show up in PP3 which is expected. 

An application fix has been completed and is scheduled for deployment to Production on 18th Jun 2026. With the fix being deployed now, any newly deleted Higher Duty Assignments will no longer appear in the People Profile employment switcher.

NOTE: The production fix will prevent the issue from occurring going forward.

However for the existing historical records that were already affected before the fix, Engineering has evaluated a migration approach to correct the visibility state. The proposed migration would update the assignment tag for employment records where the start date and end date are the same. However, this approach would also impact legitimate records that are intended to start and end on the same day, making it unsafe to execute as a general migration.

As a result, it will not be delivered as a global migration script. Instead, for customers who are affected and agree to the associated impact, we can provide and execute a targeted correction query after reviewing the data. 

However please note historically deleted Higher Duty Assignments may remain visible. Any data correction for historical records will require a customer-specific review and approval due to the potential impact on valid same-day assignments.
