3722222 - SAP Process Integration / Process Orchestration Adapter Engine is in “Suspended” status and all communication channels are stopped

In an SAP Process Integration (PI) or SAP Process Orchestration (PO) system, the Communication Channel Monitor in SAP NetWeaver Administrator shows the warning message: “Adapter Engine is in ‘Suspended’ status; communication channels are inactive and no administrative tasks are possible.” All communication channels appear in Stopped status and cannot be started manually. No inbound or outbound messages are processed via the Advanced Adapter Engine, and administrative actions such as starting, stopping, or testing channels are disabled. As a result, message processing is completely halted.
