3722713 - Unique User Login Datasource Displays UUID Instead of User Data

Symptom

Within Embedded SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), the "Unique User Logins" object does not provide meaningful user data as the User ID field shows only the UUID.

Environment

  • SAP Sales and Service Cloud Version 2
  • Analytics for SAP Sales/Service Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Settings > All Settings > Analytics > Design Stories > New.
  2. Select 'Unique User Logins' from the data source dropdown.
  3. Select ID and date.
  4. Click Finish.
  5. Add ID to the table in the cross tab structure
  6. Enable ID and description in display options for the ID field in the row.
  7. Both ID and description display only the UUID field and no user description.

Cause

  • The "Unique User Logins" datasource does not provide data per user.
  • It only gives the number of unique users who log in to the tenant on a given day.
  • The ID displayed is a technical ID only.

Resolution

  1. This is the expected system behavior.
  2. This data source is not intended for retrieving user logon information.
