3722991 - Workflow resubmit automatically after Rejection in Journal Entry Verification - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Workflow is resubmitted immediately after being rejected.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Reject a journal entry in the Journal Entry Verification workflow using the Fiori app "Verify General Journal Entries – For Requester/Processor".
2. Observe that the rejected journal entry reappears in the approver’s inbox after a few minutes without any user-initiated resubmission.

In the workflow step under 'Exception handling' tab the 'Action Result' is set as 'Restart Workflow' and 'Required Action' is set as "Do Nothing" thus auto workflow restart happening after rejecting the Journal Entry.

The exception setting relates to an automatic action that happens if the document is Rejected.

For example, if a PO is rejected and Action result under exception handling is set as

1. 'Cancel workflow', then workflow steps shows as Rejected.
2. 'Repeat Step', then workflow will automatically repeat that workflow step again and the user will see in the workflow log that the workflow was Rejected, and a new step showing with status Ready.
3. 'Restart workflow', then workflow will automatically restart workflow and the user will see in the workflow log that the workflow is restarted, and a new step showing with status Ready. If Required Action is set as "Do Nothing", the workflow is resubmitted immediately without any user interaction.

To avoid the resubmission loop, adjust the active workflow depend on business requirement, then ask the original submitter to withdraw the journal entry and resubmit it to ensure the new defined Workflow is used.

Flexible Workflow Administration can be used to check the Workflow definition of affected Business Object ID.
