3723497 - Quantity Mismatch Between Sales Order and Product Planning Page

Symptom

The requested quantity in the Sales Order (ABC) differs from the sales order quantity shown in the Product Planning page.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Sales Order work center.
  2. Go to Sales Order View.
  3. Search and Open the relevant Sales Order ID.
  4. Observe the requested quantity for the relevant line item in the Sales order.

  5. Go to Supply Planning work center.
  6. Go to Customer Demand view.
  7. Search using the relevant Sales Order ID.
  8. Select the corresponding line item.
  9. Choose the open Product Planning page.
  10. Compare the quantities displayed for the same Sales Order ID with the requested quantity.

Cause

  • The quantity displayed in Product Planning for a Sales Order is the confirmed quantity in Customer Demand, and only this quantity is considered as available stock in Product Planning.
  • The remaining quantity that is not displayed in Product Planning is unconfirmed in Customer Demand, indicating that this quantity is not sufficiently available in Product Planning.
  • In Product Planning, only the confirmed quantities from Customer Demand are displayed; unconfirmed quantities do not appear in Product Planning.

Resolution

Maintain sufficient stock levels for the product as available stock so that the requested Sales Order quantities can be fully confirmed in Customer Demand.
