WIP Quantity Formula

  • WIP Quantity = (Actual Consumption Quantity - Planned Consumption Quantity) * (Actual Receipt Quantity / Planned Receipt Quantity)

Understanding the Formula Components

  1. Actual Consumption Quantity:

    • This is the actual quantity of the item under:
      • Confirmations or
      • Goods Issues
    • Use this value to calculate WIP based on your purpose (e.g., confirmation process or input material processing).
  2. Planned Consumption Quantity:

    • This is the planned quantity of the item under:
      • Confirmations or
      • Goods Issues
    • Again, select values depending on whether you're calculating WIP for confirmation or input material.
  3. Actual Receipt Quantity:

    • This is the actual quantity recorded for the output material under the Goods Receipt folder.
  4. Planned Receipt Quantity:

    • This is the planned quantity for the output material, also located in the Goods Receipt folder.

Example Scenario:

  • To calculate WIP for period 001/2026:

    • Select the relevant period in Set Parameters.
    • Retrieve Actual Consumption Quantity for Confirmations or Goods Issues based on your calculation objective.
    • Retrieve Planned Consumption Quantity for the same item type (Confirmations/Goods Issues).
    • Retrieve Actual Receipt Quantity and Planned Receipt Quantity for the output material.
  • Plug these values into the formula above:

    • WIP Quantity = (Actual Consumption Quantity - Planned Consumption Quantity) * (Actual Receipt Quantity / Planned Receipt Quantity).

Resolution
