Symptom

  • Error message displayed: "status provided is invalid. Provide a valid status" when attempting to change the case status.

Environment

SAP Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Cases.
  2. Open a Case.
  3. Attempt to change the status.

Cause

  • A custom determination was setting the case status to a value not included in the status schema.

Resolution

  1. Identify the custom determination responsible for setting the case status to an invalid value.
  2. Disable the determination.
  3. Verify that the case status can now be changed successfully.
