3724808 - New Hire Event Reason for Contingent Worker Is Overwritten in Manage Pending Hires - Onboarding

When hiring a Contingent Worker candidate in Manage Pending Hires with Event Reason = New Hire, the Event Reason is overwritten with another value.

• SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding.
• SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central.

1. Add an Event Reason for a Contingent Worker initiated from Recruiting or Onboarding.
2. Proceed with candidate to Manage Pending Hires.
3. You will see the Event Reason populated in Manage Pending Hires is not the same one maintained in Recruiting/Onboarding.

This is expected system behavior.

Event Reasons are tied to specific Events, and the system will automatically pull event reasons that correspond to the selected event. If the candidate is identified as a Contingent Worker, the system assigns Event = Start Contingent Worker.

As a result, event reasons associated with Event = Hire will not be used, and the system will instead select an event reason linked to Start Contingent Worker.

If the intention is to use:

• Event = Hire
• Event Reason = New Hire

The candidate must be processed as a regular employee hire, not as a contingent worker.
