3724884 - Potential impacts of Basic Authentication Deprecation for Report Center SFTP schedules

Symptom

Access to APIs that rely on HTTP Basic Authentication will be discontinued on November 20, 2026. Because Report Center SFTP schedules currently use Basic Authentication, there is concern about whether these schedules will be impacted once Basic Authentication is deprecated.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Report Center.
  2. Click the Actions (three dots) button.
  3. Select New Schedule.
  4. For Table and Canvas reports, observe that FTP (SFTP) is available as a delivery destination.
  5. Note that the SFTP schedule currently authenticates using Basic Authentication.

Resolution

The deprecation of HTTP Basic Authentication applies specifically to API access within the SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite. It does not affect internal platform services used for report scheduling.

Report Center SFTP delivery jobs run through the platform’s internal scheduling framework, which handles SFTP authentication separately from the API‑based Basic Authentication that will be retired on November 20, 2026.

Because of this separation, no configuration changes are required. SFTP‑based delivery of Table and Canvas report schedules will continue to operate normally after the retirement of HTTP Basic Authentication.
