3725245 - Business rule validation failure for mandatory home and mailing address types during onboarding

Symptom

  • A business rule designed to enforce mandatory home and mailing address types during onboarding is not functioning correctly.
  • The issue occurs when onboarding is restarted or when candidates delete existing address information and add new entries during the data collection step.
  • Validation errors fail to trigger, allowing candidates to bypass the mandatory mailing address requirement.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Trigger the Provide Data Collection (PDC) step for a new hire.
  2. Candidate logs in to complete the PDC step.
  3. In the address information section, the candidate deletes the home address type and fills in a fresh home address type by clicking on "Add Address Information" button.
  4. Candidate submits the PDC step without providing a mailing address.
  5. Validation error fails to trigger, allowing the candidate to proceed.

Cause

  • The business rule fails to validate the mandatory mailing address type due to a condition where the login user is not the new hire, allowing the rule to bypass validation.

Resolution

Implement the following workaround:

  • Update the existing address record instead of deleting and inserting a new one.
  • Ensure candidates modify the default home address flowing from the system if required and add a mailing address by inserting a new record.

- Await the permanent fix planned for release in 2H2026.

- We will update this KBA once it is deployed successfully.
