3725590 - Shortage Definition Not Selectable in App “Monitor Production Orders or Process Orders (Version 3)”

In the Monitor Production Orders or Process Orders (Version 3) app, the field Shortage Definition is not selectable.

The app uses the default shortage definition, Ordered Requirements, and users are unable to select alternative shortage definitions even though additional definitions exist in the system.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Access the "Monitor Production Orders or Process Orders (Version 3)" app in S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
2. Attempt to select the shortage definition field.
3. Observe that the field is not selectable.

The Shortage Definition field in the app is populated based on the Material Shortage Profile assigned to the user.

If no material shortage profile is assigned to the user, or if the profile does not contain shortage definitions configured for coverage check of manufacturing order components, the app automatically uses the default shortage definition Ordered Requirements.

To enable the selection of additional shortage definitions in the app, maintain the required configuration.

1. Open configuration activity 'Define Material Shortage Profiles'.
2. Create a new profile (for example, a Z-profile).
   
3. Within the created profile, maintain 'Define Material Shortage Definition'.
4. Create a shortage definition and ensure the following indicator is active:
   
   • Coverage Check for Components of Manufacturing Orders (Only shortage definitions configured with this option are considered by production order monitoring applications).
     
5. Open configuration activity 'Assign Material Shortage Profile to Users' and assign the created Material Shortage Profile to the relevant business user.
   
6. Open the Monitor Production Orders or Process Orders (Version 3) app.
7. The shortage definition maintained in the assigned Material Shortage Profile will be set in the Shortage Definition filter.
