3725848 - Physical Data Model changes not preserved when upgrading from an old version - SAP PD

Symptom

  • PowerDesigner is upgraded from version 12.5 to 16.7.9 and higher.
  • Modifications made to the Physical Data Model (PDM) are lost when upgrading the model from the Conceptual Data Model (CDM) or Logical Data Model (LDM), despite selecting the Preserve modifications option.
  • Overlapping foreign key columns that were merged in the original PDM are unmerged during the re-generation process.
  • Additional columns are generated in the physical model, which were not expected.
  • Renaming of foreign key columns occurs incorrectly during the migration process.
