• An error occurs when attempting to connect the advanced workflow system to the external database using the JDBC URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@//abcdefg-scan:1000/efgh.lax.abcd.com.
• The connection works successfully from a local machine through external tools while connected to the company VPN but fails consistently from the advanced workflow server.
• Error messages observed:
  • ORA-10009: Unknown host specified: abcdefg-scan
  • java.net.UnknownHostException: abcdefg-scan
• The issue is being faced for the first time during attempts to connect the advanced workflow system to the external database.
