Symptom
Instructors can enroll users into classes from the same item even when the settings "Prevent Multiple Class Registration Interval" has a value.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Create an ILT course.
- Populate the field "Prevent Multiple Class Registration Interval" = 180.
- Create 2 classes using the following . Example
- Class1 - Start Date> Current date (example: March 5th) and make sure the class is ongoing (Set the agenda start time to a past hour of the day and the End time to a future time of the day.) - this is to make sure that the instructor will be able to enroll the user in this class as a walk-in.
- Class2 - Start Date> APR/20/2026
- Set an instructor to the class that you have access to.
- As an admin, enroll the user in the Class2.
- Now, login as the instructor and enroll the user in the Class1 .
- It will be possible to complete this action.
Cause
Expected system behavior.
Resolution
The current setting prevents admins and managers only. Instructors cannot enroll users into future classes, only past and ongoing classes.
According to Engineering team, this is expected that Instructors can add "walk-ins" even if they violate the time interval.
To avoid the issue from happening, we may recommend the following:
- Remove the permission "Add Walk ins" from the instructor role;
- Guide the instructors to not add users as walk-ins before consulting if the user is enrolled in another class of the same item even if they have permission.
