3725979 - Editing self-description allowed on mobile despite feature being disabled in Configure Latest People Profile - 2511

Symptom

The mobile device allows editing of the self-description even without permission, which contradicts the controlled behavior observed in the web version.

Environment

SuccessFactors Employee Profile 2511

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to the instance and proxy as a user.
  2. Test in the desktop version; observe that editing self-description is not possible as expected.
  3. Log in to the mobile app using the same user credentials.
  4. Observe that editing self-description is possible without any errors upon saving.

Cause

Known Defect.

Resolution

This defect has been identified by Product Development.

  1. The mobile app does not currently support the "disable self-description" functionality.
  2. Note that this functionality gap is planned to be addressed in the 2H2026 release.
