3726176 - Blank page or 404 error when accessing BI Launchpad after upgrade

Symptom

  • The BI launchpad is not functioning, resulting in a Blank page upon access after an upgrade to BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.3 SP5 P4 or 2025 or higher.
  • The behavior is that BILaunchpad fails during logon with a blank page, and the http .har file trace using F12 developers tools shows a 404 on the following url –
    • Uncaught ModuleError: failed to load 'com/sap/fioribi/modules/logonpage/LogonpageContainer.js' from ../PlatformServices/sapui5/resources/com/sap/fioribi/modules/logonpage/LogonpageContainer.js: 404 - Not Found
  • Error messages observed in F12 developer tools and console include:
    • `ui5loader-dbg.js:1279 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)`
    • `Uncaught ModuleError: failed to load 'com/sap/fioribi/modules/logonpage/LogonpageContainer.js' from ../PlatformServices/sapui5/resources/com/sap/fioribi/modules/logonpage/LogonpageContainer.js: 404 - Not Found`.
  • Access to CMC logon works, and BI servers are running without errors. However, accessing the BI Launchpad URL results in a blank page with error 404.
  • The issue persists when bypassing the load balancer and using the direct WebSphere URL.
  • Clearing Websphere cache or redeploying does not resolve the issue 
  • The same version installation works correctly on another Test environment with Tomcat Application server but fails on WebSphere deployment.

  • IBM WebSphere version: 9.0.5.25 or Apache Tomcat 9x (NOTE: This issue can occur on any supported Application Server)
  • Linux RHEL 8.9 (or any supported OS)
  • IHS web server / Load Balancer
