- The card contains only an A-number and lacks the modern alphanumeric card number.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding
Reproducing the Issue
- Proxy as responsible user.
- Open the onboarding dashboard.
- Search for the affected user and open the details.
- Start the Section 2 task.
- Under List A, select "No" for the receipt option.
- Select "Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551)" for the documents presented.
- Select "DOJ Immigration and Naturalization Service" for the issuing authority.
- Select "Yes" for "Does the document have a number?".
- Enter the document number.
- Validation error displays.
Cause
The issue is caused by the system's validation process, which does not support older Permanent Resident Cards issued in 1977 that lack alphanumeric card numbers.
Resolution
- The engineering team has created an enhancement request to support validation for all versions of U.S. Permanent Resident Cards (Form I-551).
- The revised validation is planned for implementation in the 2H 2026 release.
