3726463 - How to Create Restore Point

Symptom

You want to create a restore point for your tenant.

Environment

SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2

Resolution

A restore point is a complete copy of a tenant that captures the tenant’s data at a specific point in time. It acts as a snapshot of the system and can be requested before performing activities such as data migration or other critical changes in an existing tenant. This restore point serves as a fallback option in case the tenant needs to be recovered to the captured state.

To create a restore point, submit a service request through the Service Catalog.

Procedure

  1. Go to Service Catalog.
  2. If direct access is not available, log in to SAP for Me.
  3. Sign in using your S-user ID.
  4. Navigate to: Dashboards → Services & Support.
  5. Select New Service Request.
  6. In the Service Request Management portal, select the catalog: CRM and Customer Experience.
  7. Under Categories, choose: CX Sales & Service Cloud.
  8. Select the service: CX Sales and Service – Tenant Services.
  9. Fill in the form and specify that you require Restore Point Creation.
  10. Select Submit to create the request.

Note:

  • Any critical activity in the source tenant must be avoided while the restore point creation is in progress. This step is required to provide a consistent recovery.

  • The retention period of a restore point is, by default, 14 days. After the retention period, the restore point is deleted.

  • Restore points are inactive tenants, so you can't log on to one.

  • You can request restore points for both test and production tenants.
