3726494 - Property value "mail.use.tls" reverts to default during application startup

Symptom

    The property "mail.use.tls" is set to false due to changes in JDK21 and the connection to the mail server. The property value "mail.use.tls" reverts to its default value during application startup.

    Error messages observed:

    • "Could not send email. Make sure your mail properties (mail.*) are correctly set."
    • "Sending the email to the following server failed: smtp-ext.xxx.de:25"
    • "Could not convert socket to TLS"
    • "SSLHandshakeException: No subject alternative DNS name matching smtp-ext.xxx.de found
