3726512 - Non-Datasphere Users able to Publish Data in Seamless Planning Stories in SAP Analytics Cloud

Users without a SAP Datasphere account are able to enter and publish data in SAP Analytics Cloud planning stories based on Seamless Planning models.

• SAP Analytics Cloud 2026.2.16
• SAP Datasphere

1. Log in to SAP Analytics Cloud
2. Open a planning story based on a Seamless Planning model
3. Make planning changes, such as entering data in a table
4. Click Publish Data
5. Observe: The data is published to the SAP Datasphere space

This is by design behavior of the product.

• With planning stories based on Seamless Planning models, users who have an SAP Analytics Cloud account with appropriate planning authorizations can perform planning activities such as data entry, version management, and publishing data, even if they do not have a dedicated SAP Datasphere user account.
• However, to work on Seamless Planning models, users must exist in both SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere, and be assigned to the SAP Datasphere space. For more details, refer to Roles, Privileges and Data Access Control for Seamless Planning | SAP Help.
