Configuration Transport Center does not transport changes made in Custom Task Template Editor in Manage Onboarding and Offboarding Tasks.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Navigate to Manage Onboarding and Offboarding Tasks.
2. Go to the Task Settings tab.
3. In the Manage Custom Tasks table, select a Custom Task that includes a custom UI configuration.
4. Click Edit on the selected task.
5. Click Open Template Editor to access the UI designer.
6. Apply UI customizations and save the task.
7. Confirm the custom UI displays correctly in the source environment.
8. Open Configuration Transport Center (CTC).
9. Create a new transport bundle and add the Custom Tasks + related MDF objects.
10. Transport the bundle from Source to Target environments.
11. Log in to the Target instance.
12. Navigate again to Manage Onboarding and Offboarding Tasks and open the same Custom Task.
13. Observe that the task and MDF objects were transported, but the custom UI template did not transfer and only the default UI appears.

The Configuration Transport Center supports the transport of specific configuration artifacts, such as:

• MDF Object Definitions
• MDF Configuration Data
• Picklists
• Business Rules
• Configuration UI elements

Changes performed within the Custom Task Template Editor are stored as part of the Onboarding task UI configuration rather than as part of the MDF object definition or its configuration data.

Because of this, the template editor configuration is not included in the CTC transport bundle.

This behavior is expected.

While the Custom MDF Object associated with the task can be transported using CTC, the configuration performed inside the Custom Task Template Editor in Manage Onboarding and Offboarding Tasks is not supported for transport. As a result, these configurations must be recreated manually in the target instance.

For now Onboarding Development team is discussing the possibility of delivering this solution in the future, but for now this is not supported. Hence, we recommend customers to track updates shared in this KBA.
