Symptom
In 'Post Goods Movements' app (MIGO) during Goods Issue for Production Order, the "Overdelivery Allowed" indicator appears as checked in the Batch Determination in Strategy Info screen, even though the same indicator is unchecked in the corresponding batch determination strategy settings.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Cause
This is standard SAP behavior.
Although the goods issue is posted for a production order, the batch determination in MIGO is executed under MM Inventory Management application logic.
According to SAP standard help for the field Overdelivery Allowed:
- MM Inventory Management -> indicator is set
This setting overwrites the setting in the strategy record - CO Production/Process Orders -> indicator is not set
- WM Warehouse Management -> indicator is not set
- SD Sales Order/Delivery -> indicator is not set
Therefore, when batch determination is triggered in 'Post Goods Movements' app (MIGO), the system applies the MM Inventory Management default and sets Overdelivery Allowed to checked, regardless of the value maintained in the batch determination strategy record.
Resolution
This behavior cannot be changed through the batch determination strategy record alone, because in 'Post Goods Movements' app (MIGO) the MM Inventory Management setting takes priority.
If the business requirement is to avoid this behavior, a possible alternative is to use backflush consumption during production order confirmation instead of posting the goods issue manually in 'Post Goods Movements' app (MIGO).
In that process, batch determination is handled under CO Production/Process Order logic, where the "Overdelivery Allowed" indicator is not preset by standard SAP.
