3726957 - Latest Benefits Overview - "You Don’t Have Permission To Enrol Into Benefits" Error When No 'View', 'Edit' And 'Enroll' RBP

Benefits have been configured so that employees cannot enroll in them themselves - however, they are receiving an application error when trying to view the benefits page (when only having 'view' permission, or 'view' and 'edit' permission but not 'enroll' permission):

1. Log into environment
2. Proxy as example user
3. Go to employee profile > Benefits Overview
4. Go to the 'Enrolled Benefits' portlet and select the little 'open' window on an available benefit
5. The enrollment page opens for the benefit, and the error is received

Code issue - a few APIs were relying on having total permissions to benefits (view, edit and enroll in benefits) to properly access the page, whereas they should only check for view permission or edit permission. Those APIs have now been fixed accordingly.

This issue has been investigated and addressed in BEN-21681, which will be fixed as of the 1H 2026 release. With this fix, the error will no longer show as long as the employee has 'View' or 'View' and 'Edit' permissions.

A side-scenario has been noted where the 'Enroll' button can still show even without 'Enroll' permission - however, this will be partially fixed with the above code correction so that the user cannot be brought to the enrollment page with the enrollment details. This will be further addressed in BEN-21798, where the 'Enroll' button will be removed without the 'Enroll' RBP, though this correction has no fix timeline at this time. You can provide the 'BEN-21798' ID to your CSM for them to track this accordingly.
