3727068 - Error message: costing sheet XXXXX is not for event-based posting in app Create Production Order

Symptom

  • While creating a production order using app Create Production Order, the system throws an error message and does not allow the order to be saved.
  • Error message: C2397  "Costing Sheet XXXXXX is Not for Event-Based Posting".

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to app 'Create Production Order'
  2. Attempt to create a production order.
  3. Observe the error message: "Costing Sheet 1810PP is Not for Event-Based Posting".

Cause

The costing sheet maintained in the SSCUI 'Define Valuation Variant per Plant' is not event-based, which is required for the event-based production accounting process in the S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system.

In the SSCUI 'Define Valuation Variant per Plant', under the Overhead tab, Costing sheet maintained in the section 'Overhead on Finished and Semifinished Materials' is not event based.

Resolution

  1. Verify the costing sheet configuration in the system.
  2. Ensure the costing sheet is compatible with event-based production accounting as outlined in the S/4HANA Cloud Best Practices content.
  3. Update the costing sheet to align with the standard event-based costing variants (e.g., PYR1, PYR2) and valuation variants (e.g., YR6, YR7).
