3727149 - Outbound Messages Do Not Automatically Retrigger in SAP Sales Cloud V2

Symptom

Inbound messages in SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 are automatically re‑triggered multiple times (7) before reaching a final failure status.
However, outbound messages fail immediately without any automatic re‑triggering.
You are seeking confirmation on whether an automatic retry mechanism exists for outbound messages, or whether there are recommended options to enable retries after a defined interval.

Environment

Sales Cloud Version 2

Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Monitor inbound messages and observe that they are automatically retriggered several times before failing.
  2. Monitor outbound messages and observe that they fail directly without any retry attempts.

Cause

At present, outbound messages do not support an automatic re‑triggering mechanism.
Only manual retry options are available in the Message Monitoring application.
The introduction of an automatic retry capability for outbound payloads would involve complex technical considerations, and is not part of the current standard behavior.

Resolution

If automatic retry handling for outbound messages is critical for your business process, SAP recommends submitting a request through the SAP Influence Portal.
This will allow the requirement to be reviewed, assessed, and potentially prioritized by SAP Product Management for future enhancements.
