3727947 - Balance sheet account cannot be used as overhead allocation account in intercompany universal allocation cycles

Symptom

When maintaining or executing an intercompany allocation cycle in Universal Allocation, the system raises errors when a balance sheet account is used in the segment header as the overhead allocation account.

Typical symptoms include:

  • Error while retrieving clearing accounts for an account.

  • Cost element does not exist in the controlling area for the specified period.

This can cause confusion when balance sheet accounts are maintained in OBYA and are expected to be used in the cycle.
